Valiant Shield gas station
An F-15 Eagle flies toward the boom of a KC-135 Stratotanker during Exercise Valiant Shield Aug. 9 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. The F-15 is from the 44th Fighter Squadron at Kadena Air Base, Japan, and the KC-135 is from the New Hampshire Air National Guard. During the exercise, Air Force aircraft and Airmen from stateside bases and Kadena AB will comprise part of an expeditionary air wing based at Andersen AFB. Andersen AFB will also be the bed-down location for approximately 64 Air Force and 29 Navy aircraft, plus transient aircraft, during Valiant Shield.
