O'Malley Award
Brig. Gen. Brett and Marianne Williams show the picture of "The Falcon and the Rose" that was presented to them during a ceremony at the Pentagon Sept. 11, 2009, where they were honored with the 2009 General and Mrs. Jerome O'Malley Award. Tradition says the falcon and rose are powerful and enduring symbols within the Air Force -- the unrivaled courage and effortless power of a falcon in flight are bound in harmony with the simple grace and unchallenged beauty of a single rose. The O'Malley award is presented annually to the wing commander and spouse team who have best exhibited their own courage, power, grace and beauty in caring for Air Force families. (Courtesy photo)
