Arnold AFB brings home DOD environmental award
Environmental scientists from Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., organized, wrote the charter and chaired the Tennessee Bat Working Group to protect a federally listed endangered bat species, the Gray bat. Their work with the Gray bat was a key factor in winning the 2006 Secretary of Defense Gen. Thomas D. White Environmental Award for Natural Resources Conservation. (U.S. Air Force photo)
