Exhibit closes, ceremony honors fallen Airmen
Robert Henry sits with Dawn Peterson as she holds a portrait of her son, Senior Airman Jason Plite. Mr. Henry created the piece for Arlington National Cemetery's "Faces of the Fallen" exhibit, which featured 1,319 service members who lost their lives after October 2001. In honor of the exhibit's closing June 7, a number of portraits representing each service were turned over directly to surviving family members and representing the Air Force in the ceremony was Airman Plite. Mr. Henry painted Airman Plite's portrait for the exhibit. Next to Ms. Peterson is a family friend, Fern Dilley, along with Airmen who knew Airmen Plite. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. J.G.
