Exhibit closes, ceremony honors fallen Airmen
Dawn Peterson (center) holds a portrait of her son, Senior Airman Jason Plite, while standing with Lt. Gen. David A. Deptula who knew Airman Plite. Airman Plite's portrait was part of Arlington National Cemetery's "Faces of the Fallen" exhibit, which featured 1,319 service members who lost their lives after October 2001. In honor of the exhibit's closing June 7, a number of portraits representing each service were turned over directly to surviving family members and representing the Air Force in the ceremony was Airman Plite.
