Tracking space clutter
The sodium guidestar provides real-time, high-fidelity tracking and imaging of satellites too faint for conventional optical systems. Scientists at the Air Force Research Laboratory's Starfire Optical Range at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., use this break-through technology to provide valuable space situational awareness capability.
