An Air Force E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System aircraft takes off for an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission from a base in Southwest Asia. The Air Force and U.S. Navy participated in 25 ISR missions across the area of responsibility May 15. The JSTARS is modified with radar and computer subsystems that allow it to gather and display detailed battlefield information to ground forces. (U.S. Air Force photo)
