Idea nets maintenance Airman $10,000

The nose wheel trainers designed by Master Sgt. Barry Buchmiller, pictured here, will save the Air Force money by freeing up C-17 Globemaster IIIs from ground training. The trainers are used to help Airmen learn how to change the wheels on the nose landing gear assembly. Sergeant Buchmiller is assigned to the 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at McChord Air Force Base, Wash. (U.S. Air Force photo)
