Quilts of Valor a comfort for complex wartime emotions
Lenny Truitt (standing on chair) and Laurel Braunstein place a partially complete quilt top on a design wall to see how the fabrics work together June 24 in Seaford, Del. The blue flannel fabric pinned to the wall provides the neutral color needed to best view the design colors in the quilt top before all the pieces are assembled. Ms. Truitt and Ms. Braunstein are in Truitt's home studio, where they often work together making tops for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Benjamin Matwey)
