Life-saving turret prototype stems from Airman's death

Lt. Gen. Gary North, U.S. Central Command Air Forces commander, gets a first-hand look at an improved protective turret prototype developed by the USCENTAF force protection staff in concert with the Air Force Security Forces Force Protection Battlelab. The prototype's development and testing, in less than 80 days, stemmed from the death of Airman 1st Class Leebernard Chavis, who was killed by sniper fire in October 2006. (U.S. Air Force photo)
