Elmendorf Airmen put AFSO 21 to work

Staff Sgt. Brett Smith performs a pre-installation visual inspection of an egress pyrotechnic module-3 for an F-15E Strike Eagle Feb. 22 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The egress part of the aircraft transfer inspection is one of the steps changed under Elmendorf AFB's Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st century aircraft transfer program. Instead of taking 10 days, the inspection is now complete in three. Sergeant Smith is an aircrew egress craftsman with the 3rd Component Maintenance Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
