District of Washington officials provide fast, safe evacuation for biological attack exercise

Air Force District of Washington employee Debra Robinson swabs Staff Sgt. Jason Sitzles' flight helmet for bacterial contamination July 11 at the Pentagon. Sergeant Sitzles, from the 1st Helicopter Squadron on Andrews Air Force Base, Md., took part in a biological attack exercise and evacuation. Samples taken from the entire crew indicate the amount of contaminant they were exposed to during the evacuation. AFDW Airmen worked with 18 different state and federal agencies assisting the Pentagon Force Protection Agency in an Operational Response Test. The test was designed to provide first responders with information on the best methods to decontaminate people following a biological attack. (U.S. Air Force photo)
