Innovative maintainers save time, lives of front line troops
Staff Sgt. Brad Rackley inspects an A-10 Thunderbolt II auxiliary power unit combustion canister during a phase inspection July 2 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Maintainers here implemented a new phase inspection process that cuts maintenance time on the aircraft in half and ensures the aircraft can provide close-air support for ground troops in Afghanistan. Sergeant Rackley is a 455th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron engine inspection technician. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Jason Lake)
