AIR FORCE PHOTOS

To the moon and beyond!

An Atlas V rocket carrying two lunar spacecraft systems successfully launched June 18 at 5:32 EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. Helicopter crews from Air Force Reserve Command's 920th Rescue Wing supported the launch by clearing the Eastern Range, the roughly 10-mile-wide by 70-mile-long strip of Atlantic Ocean that extends in the anticipated direction of flight.
