Keeping it cool

Staff Sgt. Ramir Manaloto pressurizes a jug of hydrochloric acid before spraying it onto the coils of an air-conditioning unit outside one of the dining facilities of this deployed location in Southwest Asia Oct. 11. The acid cleans sand, grit and debris from the unit's coils, which are much like that of an automobile radiator. There are better than 3,000 air-conditioning units at this base, which is home to about 1,500 Airmen and the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing. Sergeant Manaloto is assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and deployed from Yokota Air Base, Japan. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Jason Tudor)
