Basic training graduation ceremony focuses on POW/MIA Day

Two former POWs joined the training wing commander as reviewing officials during the basic military training graduation ceremony Sept. 15 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Standing with Brig. Gen. Darrell D. Jones, 37th Training Wing commander, are retired Col. Joseph Milligan and retired Maj. Bill Roberts. Colonel Milligan was shot down May 20, 1967, while flying his 113th combat mission in an F-4 Phantom over North Vietnam. Major Roberts was flying in a B-17 Flying Fortress during World War II when he was shot down over Czechoslovakia. (U.S. Air Force photo/Robbin Cresswell)
