A C-17 Globemaster III is seen through the damaged airfield operations building on Wake Island Sept. 12, 2006. The C-17, from the 535th Airlift Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii is taking the CRG from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam back home. The 36th CRG was the initial assessment team on the island to survey the airfield and determine if aircraft could land after the island was hit by Super Typhoon Ioke Aug 31.
