Plastic surgery not just performed for cosmetic reasons
These before and after photos show the results of a child who received surgery for a cleft lip and palate. Plastic surgeons from the 59th Medical Wing plastic surgery flight at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, perform an average of 35 to 40 cleft lip and palate surgeries in a two-week period during medical readiness training exercises in Central and South American countries.
