Transient alert provides Bagram its staying power

Seen in the rearview mirror of a "follow me" truck, a C-17 Globemaster III is guided to a parking spot at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. The transient alert section of the 455th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron has the dubious task of finding parking spots for some 650 aircraft per month that fly cargo and passengers into the air base in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
