Detainee training operations teach survival skills

Capt. David Celeste gets sprayed with pepper-spray prior to running an obstacle course during detainee training operations on April 25, 2006, at Fort Lewis, Wash. Airmen must navigate the course and take down a "hostile attacker" after being sprayed so they can learn how to function while feeling the effects of the spray. This training prepares Airmen by replicating situations they may encounter while deployed. Captain Celeste is with the 9th Security Forces Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, Calif. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Larry A. Simmons)
