Kolligian Trophy
Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. John D.W. Corley (left) and Koren Kolligian (right) present the Kolligian Trophy to Capt. Andreas Ix during a ceremony in the Pentagon on Friday, May 12, 2006. The trophy, named after 1st Lt. Koren Kolligian Jr., who was declared missing in the line of duty on Sept. 14, 1955, is awarded annually to an aircrew member or to aircrew members who exhibit outstanding feats of airmanship. Capt. Ix earned the award because of his actions after a red-tail hawk struck and damaged the C-17 Globemaster III he was piloting over West Texas on March 10, 2005. (U.S. Air Force photo/Mickey Sanborn)
