Panjshir reconstruction team bids farewell to fallen comrades
Army Lt. Col. Steve Lancaster renders a salute to fallen comrade Lt. Col. Mark Stratton during a May 31 memorial at Forward Operating Base Lion, Afghanistan.. Four members of the reconstruction team were killed May 26 when their convoy vehicle was struck by a suicide car bomber. More than 75 American servicemembers and Afghan leaders paid tribute to Colonel Stratton, the team's commander, Army Master Sgt. Blue Rowe, the unit first sergeant, Senior Airman Ashton Goodman, the convoy driver, and Abdul Samad, a local legal expert.
