Iditarod 2006
Maj. Tom Knolmayer, along with other mushers, stop at the 'Old Woman's Cabin' along a 90-mile stretch of the Iditarod dog sled race trial between Kaltag and Unalakleet checkpoints. The cabin is approximately 300 miles from the finish line at Nome, Alaska. Major Knolmayer is the chief of surgery at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska's 3rd Medical Group and he is running his second Iditarod in as many years. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Keith Brown)
