Amputee Airman overcomes cancer
Tech. Sgt. Matthew Profitt runs wearing a flexible prosthesis, a C-Sprint, which absorbs impact. In 2003, while activated at Dover Air Force Base, Del., supporting the war on terrorism, the reservist's leg was amputated when he was diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma, a malignant soft tissue tumor. He is a 512th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron guidance and control section technician. (U.S. Air Force photo/1st Lt. Marnee A.C. Losurdo)
