Iraqi Air Force history
Airmen from the Multinational Security Transition Command Coalition Air Force Transition Team stand in formation during the formal stand-up of New Al Muthana Air Base, Iraq, Tuesday, March 7, 2006. The ceremony recognized the activation of the air base and the Iraqi 23rd Squadron of C-130E Hercules aircraft. The event culminated more than a year of training by U.S. Airmen with the Multinational Security Transition Command Coalition Air Force Transition Team.
