Air Force makes Indy 500 debut
Six members of the Air Force delayed entry program recite the oath of enlistment administered by Indiana Senator Richard Lugar during a ceremony May 17 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The speedway recognizes the contributions of military men and women annually during Armed Forces Day weekend. The Indianapolis 500 May 24 features the debut of an Air Force-themed Indy car driven by rookie Rafael Matos, who qualified 12th and starts from the fourth row. (U.S. Air Force photo/Daniel Elkins)
