Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian award
PENTAGON (AFPN) -- New Mexico Sen. Pete Domenici (left) congratulates Ernest O. Stewart Jan. 23. Mr. Stewart is the Air Force's nomination for the Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award. Mr. Stewart is an active civic leader for Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., and has supported the Air Force for more than 50 years. Established in 1996, the award honors an individual or organization demonstrating exceptional patriotism and humanitarian concern for members of the U.S. armed forces or their families. Each service branch annually submits nominees. The Fisher House Foundation annually supports more than 8,500 military families of unexpected illness, disease or injury.
