ROBE
FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. (AFPN) -- Tech. Sgt. Jeremiah Docken loads data into a Roll-On Beyond Line-of-Sight Enhancement Spiral 2 kit as part of a training exercise Jan. 17. The upgraded ROBE Spiral 2 equipment brings enhancements to a system that is revolutionizing battlefield communications. Acting as a flying network node, the ROBE kits help forward data streams, voice and other information from units in the battle zone to satellites, which in turn can forward the information anywhere on the globe. Sergeant Docken is a boom operator with the 92nd Air Refueling Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Nathan Gallahan)
