Ammo warriors keep close-air support of U.S., Coalition forces a reality
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (AFPN) -- Staff Sgt. Bruno Carrasco secures MAU-169 computer control group fins to an ammunitions trailer here. The CCG detects laser energy reflected from a target, processes signals, and guides the GBU-12 munitions to the target. Since Sept. 15, the 455th munitions flight provided more than 23,000 rounds of 30mm ammunition, 15,000 countermeasures, 103 rockets, 14 500-pound air burst bombs and nine laser-guided bombs in support of the ongoing global war on terrorism. Sergeant Carrasco from El Paso, Texas, is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Marcus McDonald)
