Stranded Herc
MOSUL, Iraq (AFPN) -- Senior Airman Brian Kundick removes the bolts from an access panel to reach the mounting bolts of a failed elevator booster pack on a C-130 Hercules stranded here. The pack lets the rear wings move vertically, allowing the aircraft to ascend or descend in flight. He and Hydraulics specialist Staff Sgt. David Harrelson came here Nov. 12 to help get the cargo plane back in the air. The maintainers are deployed to Iraq with the 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron from Pope AFB, N.C.
