Commando Sling

PAYA LEBAR AIR BASE, Singapore -- Crew hhiefs from 14th Fighter Squadron, Misawa, Japan, prepare to launch their F-16 Fighting Falcon for a mission at Paya Lebar Air Base, Singapore, during Exercise Commando Sling. The annual Commando Sling series began in 1990 to provide combined air combat training for U.S. Air Force and Singapore Air Force fighter units. The exercise enables units to sharpen air combat skills, improve procedures for sustained operations at a non-U.S. base, and promote closer relations between the two air forces and nations.
