New Huey
RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Capt. John Beurer (right seat) pilots the TH-1H trainer helicopter with Jeff Cutrell, instructor pilot. This is the first of 24 TH-1H's that will be modified to train Air Force helicopter student pilots. Some of the helicopter benefits include an engine upgrade from--1,400 to now 1,600 brake horsepower, stronger transmission, main rotor shaft, strengthened tail boom, repositioned tail rotor to the right side for better efficiency and an all new "glass cockpit" with its three large multi function displays and an emergency location transmitter.
