Alaska Shield/Northern Edge'05

ANCHORAGE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Alaska -- Fire and rescue teams from Kulis Air National Guard Station conducted a mass casualty drill with a simulated aircraft crash Aug. 17 during Alaska Shield/Northern Edge '05. The exercise was the largest homeland defense/homeland security exercise ever conducted in Alaska. It was the first opportunity within the state to exercise an integrated local, state and federal government response to a series of simulated emergencies including natural disasters, terrorist attacks and mass casualty scenarios.
