Anderson answers call for help

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Staff Sgt. Wayne Gatewood watches as passengers leave a diverted aircraft here Aug. 19. More than 800 passengers arrived safely and cleared through customs after their commercial flights were diverted here because of an emergency that temporarily closed Won Pat International Airport, Guam. Airmen and local custom agents and authorities worked together to process passengers on eight airliners. Sergeant Gatewood is assigned to the 36th Security Forces Squadron.
