Air surveillance
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Senior Airman David Shipman checks radar interference on a spectrum analyzer Aug. 16 during Alaska Shield/Northern Edge 05. The exercise is the largest homeland defense/homeland security exercise conducted in Alaska. It is an opportunity within the state to exercise an integrated local, state and federal government response to a series of simulated emergencies.
