SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Thorpe terminates a telephone line during a defense switched network service upgrade at a forward-deployed location. The 386th Expeditionary Communications Squadron’s Airmen manually programmed and wired all mission-critical phone lines into a temporary telephone switch to provide DSN access throughout the critical 24-hour upgrade procedure.
