OFFUT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- Staff Sgt. Guillermo Ybarra III, uses a solar observation program to monitor solar flare activity. Space weather Airmen closely observe a variety of space weather effects such as solar winds, geomagnetic storms and solar flares ensuring that satellite communications are not disrupted.
