DOG ISLAND, Fla. -- Lt. Col. Edward Linch flew his private plane here during Field Day 2005. The nationwide event is held by the American Radio Relay League to link amateur stations with federal, state and local disaster relief agencies. Colonel Linch established a link to 36 other operators during extremely poor atmospheric conditions. He is the wing plans chief of the 505th Command and Control Wing at nearby Hurlburt Field.
