Eglin Airmen go to war with stumps, trees
SHALIMAR, Fla. -- Staff Sgts. Jon Farr (left) and Andrew Shone hook the wench of a five-ton truck to a stump. The Airmen and other instructors with the 96th Ground Combat Training Squadron at nearby Eglin Air Force Base cut up fallen trees and pulled 18 stumps, saving the village more than $2,000. Hurricane Ivan downed hundreds of trees on the property and caused more than $300,000 in damage. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Mike Meares)
