Air Force makes a stable move
DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Lt Col William Hill helps offload one of the pallets containing the last remaining war stable from a C-17 Globemaster III here. The stable was the D-Day home for the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, known as the Band of Brothers. Originally located on a farm in south England, it was disassembled, palletized and transported to the United States on an Air National Guard C-17 from the 172nd Airlift Wing at Allen C. Thompson Field, Miss. The stable will be transported to Camp Toccoa, Ga., where it will reassembled at a museum there. Colonel Hill is the operations group commander for the 172nd AW.
