Kadena Airmen deploy to Philippines
KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Staff Sgt. Joseph Cziko, from the 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron here, helps fix communications on a 33rd Rescue Squadron HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter before the aircraft's departure Dec. 9 for a mission to the storm-devastated Philippines. Three HH-60s from the 33rd RQS, two MC-130 Combat Shadows from the 353rd Special Operations Group and a 909th Air Refueling Squadron KC-135 Stratotanker launched from Kadena to provide humanitarian assistance to nearly 170,000 people displaced by Typhoon Nanmadol.
