1960's -- FT. LEONARD WOOD, MO -- A U.S. Air Force CH-3C helicopter airlifts a 106mm recoilless rifle mount on a U.S. Army jeep from a rear area into the "battle zone" in support of OZARK forces. This action was part of a simulated "battle" between the OZARK and SIOUX forces during U.S. Strike Command's Joint Exercise GOLD FIRE I, held in southern Missouri. 10 November 1964 (Official U.S. Strike Command Photo)
