Remodeled runway

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- An F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned here makes the first takeoff from the base's remodeled runway Sept. 2. The runway closed in March for construction as part of the Rhein-Main Transition Program. The $158 million project took more than two years of planning before construction began.
