Guests for a day
GANCI AIR BASE, Kyrgyzstan -- Private 1st Class Michael Barone (right) and the rest of Charlie Company, 2-22nd Infantry Regiment, were guests here for about 12 hours before leaving for Afghanistan early Aug. 2 to support Operation Enduring Freedom. The soldiers are from Fort Drum, N.Y. They arrived en masse via contract airlift, but departed in groups of 30 to 40 on board C-130 Hercules transports.
