Carl Hoenshell

1940's -- First Lt. Carl Hoenshell poses in his P-38 Lightning during World War II. He was declared killed in action in 1945, but his remains were not recovered until 2002. His family buried him with full military honors in his hometown of Ossowa, Mich., on May 25.
