Emergency life line
Staff Sgt. Phillip Balson mounts a new weather-resistant emergency phone on a T-barrier in the Air Force housing area June 13 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. More than 120 lines were installed throughout the housing area so servicemembers can give notice during accountability checks. Sergeant Balson is a 332nd Expeditionary Communications Squadron infrastructure technician deployed from Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Julianne Showalter)
