Multinational consortium celebrates milestone of first C-17
Hungarian Minister of Defense Dr. Imre Szekeres drives a ceremonial rivet into the airframe of the first C-17 Globemaster III the 12-nation Strategic Airlift Capability consortium will receive this summer. The Republic of Hungary played a significant role in the "major join" ceremony of the C-17 given the country has provided Papa Air Base, Hungary, as the SAC program's main operating base and will serve as the flag nation in registering the SAC aircraft.
