In his honor: Street named for Airmen killed in action
Chief Master Sergeant Carl Hunsinger (left) and Chief Master Sgt. Richard Bunce (center), unveil the new street sign during a dedication ceremony June 10 in Southwest Asia. The street dedication ceremony is a tribute to Airman 1st Class Eric Barnes. Airman Barnes, 20, of Lorain, Ohio, died June 10, 2007 as a result of an improved explosive device attack on an Air Force convoy about 100 miles south of Baghdad, Iraq. He was deployed from the 90th Logistics Readiness Squadron at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. Chief Hunsinger is the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing command chief and Chief Bunce is the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron chief enlisted manager, who Airman Barnes worked for at the time of his death in 2007.
