Airman volunteers for 18-month deployment to help Iraq
Maj. Jiro McCoy prepares to take off on a training mission May 29 over Camp Taji, Iraq. The major is a member of the 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron, which is part of the Coalition Air Force Transition Team in Iraq. The unit's mission is to assess, advise, educate, train and assist the Iraqi air force helicopter wing personnel on providing counter insurgency operations via air support.
