Airman extends twice to complete mission in Iraq

Maj. Jiro McCoy takes a break May 28 on the steps of the helicopter he flew while training Iraqis during his 18-month deployment at Camp Taji, Iraq. Major McCoy voluntarily extended his deployment by 12 months in order to assist the Iraqi air force in the tactical employment of the rotary wing being set up at the camp. Major McCoy is the 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron Mi-17 (multi-role helicopter) commander of advisers. The major deployed from Fort Rucker, Ala.
